Underwater ... it's a beauuuuuutiful world!

We went diving yesterday ... YAHOOOOOOOOO! I used my fabulous new underwater camera Rudy gave me for Christmas, what fun! The beauty below the surface is absolutely astounding ... the colors, the creatures; little lobsters and shrimp and fishies and coral ... truly breathtaking.

NOW I've seen everything!

THIS IS AN OLD POST, REPEATING TO SHOW THE FROG IN THE SINK ... wth?

I've seen so many things here that I'd never seen in Oregon, I thought nothing would surprise me anymore. We have lizards that patrol our bedroom, looking for bugs, and I'm ok with that ... now. Seeing them race across the room catching and munching on creepy, long antennaed critters is actually a comforting sight. When the lizard scampers across my feet it does make me scream a little ... but I don't totally freak out like I would back in the day. I've seen big ol' centipedes ... probably my least favorite creature here, but as long as they stay out of the house and immediate yard, I'm ok with their existance.

This morning I was greeted by a frog in the kitchen sink, I did not expect that. I could understand if it was one of the small tree frogs that I've encountered when gardening, but this was bigger ... much bigger ... about 20 times bigger and getting bigger by the minute. I really wish I knew where he came from, how he got there, and if he's coming back. I need closure!
That did NOT come up through the sink pipe, way too big for that. Must've somehow journeyed through the house ... ugggghhhhh ... hope it ate lots of bugs along the way ...

Additional note: no frogs were harmed in the making of this 'blob' entry. Senior Frog was set free in the front flower bed.

I think the frog is kinda cute, looks like he's smiling ...

Farewell Mr. Stinkers

Today dear Mr. Stinkers made his journey to heaven. I brought him with me from Oregon almost 7 years ago, he enjoyed a long, happy life. My oh my, he was a little stinker.

Another fun day in Portland

Today we rode Max, the light rail, to downtown Portland for Dim Sum ... YUM!!! After lunch we rode across the river to check on the fishing. A guy that we'd met while riding Max was going fishing for sturgeon. It was a really fun day, fishing, walking, admiring the beautiful sights ... GOOD TIMES!!!

Pretty bloomers & stuff

My pretty new orchid above, it's called "white spark panda" ... isn't it a beaut?

And the hibiscus out back, it's called "Country Music" ... I think I would've named it something else. Something that rhymes with "orange" ...

Where's Bubba?

There he is, communing with nature, curled up in the planter. How cute is that? Bless his little heart.

This is the air plant we bought from the Botanical Garden at Mango Mele last month ... should be shootin' out some color any day now. It's called Tillandsia.

And here's Geico, having a sip of some sweetness.

I LOVE surprises!

There's nothin' like a good surprise ... I love 'em! Last weekend I surprised my Dad on Father's Day with a surprise visit ... what a fabulously FUN weekend! I arrived on Saturday afternoon, my Baby Brother Brucie and nephew Trevor picked me up at the airport and we headed for Sheridan.

My Mom & Dad were both surprised,

What a great time!

More pictures to follow later, but I've gotta get to work.

I don't know how these will appear after I post them ... it's all a big surprise these days

mmmmm ... sniff ... sniff ... I smell venison!

NOT!!!!

This is my new pet, Donald. He appeared in the outer back jungle this afternoon, along with another smaller deer. Such a very pleasant surprise to look out the back door and see him enjoying some of our delicious bouganvilla. I'm thinking I better put a big bucket of water and a salt lick out there for him, then I'll be able to tame him much quicker.

Peek-A-Boo ... I see you!

We occasionally have critters visit us from the great outdoors. This lil' feller was very well behaved; he didn't leap out and startle me like some of them do.

NOTE: No lizards were harmed in the photographing of these photos. This one was released back into the wild (front porch flowers).

New hummingbird nest

A new hummingbird nest has been built on a windchime on our front porch ... YIPPPPEEEEE! I'm keeping my distance and giving them some privacy this time, I can take a hint. Plus, it's too high up to reach from my little ladder!
